The Deduction Abbreviation is a system code that's used in calculations and reporting. Once there are year-to-date amounts associated with that Deduction, the abbreviation cannot be changed.
The Deduction Abbreviation can be changed after the end of a calendar year and before any payroll has been run in the new calendar year. The Deduction Description can be changed at any time.
