How do I know if my State Unemployment Taxes are being calculated correctly?

The first step in reviewing your Unemployment Tax calculation is to ensure we have the correct tax rate set up on your payroll account.  

  1. Go to the Company Tab and click Tax IDs. 
  2. Review the SUI Rate. 
  3. If it is incorrect, please provide Customer Care with a copy of the correct rate that was issued by your State Department of Labor by clicking the Help tab at the top of your account and choosing Message Us under the Contact Us section.

If your rate is correct, consider the wage base limit for your State (you can typically find the SUI wage base limit on your State Department of Labor’s website). If you have reached the limit already for an employee or are reaching it with your next payroll, this can affect the amount you’re accustomed to seeing.
