Do I need any special equipment or supplies to print to blank check stock?

The checks we generate print best using a laser printer. Inkjet printers can be used, but they feed paper into the print mechanism sooner, which can impact the alignment of the check image printing on your check stock. If your print is misaligned, you can use our Alignment Adjustment tool to shift the template up/down and left/right as needed.

Magnetic MICR toner is not required as most banks in the US utilize Optical Character Recognition (OCR) readers in their check processing operations. If you choose to use a MICR printer, the checks will print the same as they would with a standard laser printer.

If printing to blank check stock, you may want to purchase a MICR alignment gauge to ensure the MICR line of the check fits into the correct positions. We developed the templates to align properly with no alignment adjustment in our facility, but alignments may differ by printer.
