How do I set up departments so I can allocate employee wages to them?

It's easy to set up departments so you can allocate and track employee wages by department. For example, if you have Sales, Service, and Accounting departments, you can easily set those departments up. Just follow the steps below.

  1. From the Dashboard, click Company then select Department Codes.
  2. Click the Add New Code button.
  3. You can now enter a Code and a Code Description.  The code has a limit of 10 characters, and the code description has a limit of 50 characters.
  4. When compete, click the Submit New Code button.
  5. You'll be returned to the Department Codes page where you can add additional codes, or edit or delete existing codes. Codes that have been used in a calendar year cannot be deleted.
