Enhanced Security - SMS (Text Message), or Voice

How does Enhanced Security work?

Online Payroll is committed to protecting your personal and account information at all times. As such, we have incorporated an additional layer of security to ensure that only authorized personnel are able to access your account information.

As part of our new multi-factor authentication (MFA) enhanced security features, you’ll be asked to complete a simple 2-step process:1. Log in and select one of two security options:Standard Security

  • Receive a new verification code when you log in from a new machine or device.
  • Receive a new verification code when you access reports with sensitive data in them.

Increased Security

  • In addition to the above, receive a verification code each time you approve payroll.

2. Receive and enter the verification code that was provided to you in the authorization communication.

When will I be prompted to provide a verification code?

You may be asked for verification when performing a function or task that requires additional security in your payroll account: for example, when approving payroll, logging in from an unrecognized computer or mobile device.

How do I change my phone number associated with my payroll account so I may receive text messages or a voice authorization?

After logging into your payroll account, click your name at the top right of the Dashboard, then click “User Profile”. You will be able to edit your phone number there.

Is there an additional cost to receive text messages?

Online Payroll will not charge you an additional fee for this feature; however, your wireless provider’s standard text message rates may apply.

Why does my account need Enhanced Security?

While our Online Payroll system is very secure by itself, the addition of these Enhanced Security options provides your account with an additional level of security by ensuring only authorized users are able to access the account.
