What does it mean to process my payroll early?

Process Early is a feature that allows you to submit your payroll earlier than your scheduled payroll processing date and still get access to your reports. This comes in handy if you're going to be away on your scheduled processing date and you want to make sure your employees still get paid on time. There is no additional cost to you when you choose to Process Early. However, cancellation and reversal fees will apply if your payroll is processed in error.

Timeframe

You can process early up to 14 calendar days in advance of the desired check date.

Payroll Funds Withdrawal Date

Payroll funds will be withdrawn from your bank account on the normally scheduled date for that payroll. For example: Your check date is Friday, December 10th and the date that funds are scheduled to be withdrawn for that payroll is Wednesday, December 8th. You decide to submit this payroll for processing on Friday December 3rd because you'll be out of town on your normal processing date, Wednesday, December 8th. Even though your payroll was processed on December 3rd, the funds would not be withdrawn from your account until the normally scheduled date of December 8th.

Process Early Limits

If your payroll is a high dollar amount, you may be required to call Customer Care to complete your payroll after choosing to Process Early. This security measure is in place to protect your account from fraud.

Report Availability

If you process your payroll within our normal processing hours (8 am to 4 pm CST) then your reports should be available within the hour. If you process your payroll after these hours, then your reports will be available the following business day.

When Process Early is not Available

  • If the date you approved that payroll is greater than 14 calendar days in advance of the desired check date.
  • If the payroll to be processed has a check date in a different calendar year than the current one.
